Think Tank Photo

Get a free bag with any order over $49

I ran into this company a few years back and really fell in love with their bags. Their approach to being able to shoot fast has made it possible for me to get shots that I might otherwise have missed on more than one occasion. In fact their motto is "be ready before the moment" which is the way you should approach everything about photography, even if you are a landscape photographer used to being able to take your time to set up a shot, get your light readings and "wait for the light". When the light comes it is a fleeting thing and you will need to be just as fleet footed as a sports photographer if you are going to get everything out of it that you can.

As a special offer to attendees of my workshops, Think Tank Photo has set up a special portal to their site where you can get one of their bags free if you place an order for $49 or more. These bags are usually not discounted in photo stores and this is a great opportunity to get a bargain on these great products. On top of that, they have allowed me to extend this special offer to visitors to my website as well, so I encourage you to take advantage of this deal e especially if you find yourself in need of top quality camera bags and accessories. Just click on the image to the right.

My system consists of several of the Think Tank lines. My main travelling bag is the Airport Security V2. In this bag I can easily fit two bodies and 7 lenses - 10.5mm f/2.8, 85mm f/1.4, 105mm f/2, 14-24mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8 and my 200-400mm f/4. In addition I have two strobes and assorted flash brackets, batteries, cleaning supplies etc. I shoot out of a couple of different systems. I use the Speed Racer if I want a simple shoulder bag for my D3 and 14-24mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8 however my favorite rig to shoot from when out trekking around is the Pro Speed Belt with a selection of Lens Changers. This allows me to grab exactly the lenses and accessories that I need and have very fast access to them in the field. Finally, I use their Glass Taxi when I need to move my big glass around on its own.

The build quality on these bags is top drawer and I have never had a failure of any of my gear. I have had to contact them about other matters however, and I have found their staff to be attentive and professional.
